Korean Employment Preparation Training Program for Kenyan Workers

Institution Name: Hanbul Jewel Vocational School

• The school is run by three principals: one main principal and two vice principals.
• Main principal: Responsible for Korean language education and academic operations.
• Vice principals: Responsible for technical education and job creation for job seekers.
• The President of Hanbul Jewel Vocational School is Kim Si-yong, a Korean national.
• Admissions are available in March, June, September, and December each year.

Admission Process

1. Applicants must pass a qualification screening (document review + interview). Application fee: $50 (non-refundable).
2. Admission screening is conducted directly by President Kim Si-yong.
3. Successful applicants are registered as Job Seekers.

Curriculum and Operation

1. Job seekers receive 3 hours of class per day, 5 days a week, for 1 year to 1 year and 6 months.
2. Courses include: welding, carpentry, tiling, nursing, environmental cleaning, agriculture, fishing, livestock farming, service, barista, automotive maintenance, smart farm technology, and Korean reading & writing.
3. Each student learns Korean as a basic subject and chooses two major subjects.
4. All students must live in the Korea-France Hanbul Jewel Vocational School dormitory.
5. Classes are held every evening.
6. Breakfast and dinner are provided in the dormitory.
7. Job seekers must perform 30 minutes of physical training daily.

Korean Employment Examination & Graduation

1. The employment exam has 3 stages; only those who pass the final stage can enter Korea.
2. Only students who pass the graduation exam may graduate and receive a diploma.
3. If a student fails within 1 year, re-enrollment is allowed (maximum duration = 1 year 6 months).
4. Failure to graduate within this period results in expulsion.

Hanbul Jewel Vocational School is an establishment whose main mandate is competency development by endeavoring to bridge the gap between skill development and the job market, eliminating skills mismatch caused by over-education of youth. It alleviates the difficulties faced by job seekers while reducing the need for firms and international HR institutes to re-train workers, which in turn supports national GDP growth.

This institution targets students who have graduated from high schools or universities in Kenya with excellent grades. It focuses on providing vocational training in professional fields, teaching the skills required at workplaces, and ensuring proper evaluation and accreditation. Students are trained for 1–2 years in an environment simulating real industrial workplaces, enabling smooth adaptation to international work environments.
